Defining Spirituality

I'd like to have a discussion on God & Spirituality.

About me: I don't belong to one particular organized religion. I believe in spirituality, ie., angels, souls, an after-life place...Heaven. I believe that our bodies are a means for our souls to be here on earth and some souls have been here before and others are new. I believe in science. I'm beginning to believe in the power of prayer.

My questions/problems with God/organized religion are: believing that only one "person"/soul/entity is the leader/creator....and its a male. (My psuedo-feminism kicks in)

I just bought Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life" because my kids are driving me nuts, I've failed at many things and at 44, I'm trying to make sense of things. I couldn't even start reading the book because it assumes you believe in God and while I'm spiritual, I have a hard time accepting God, the Bible & miraculous creation.

So can you be spiritual and not necessarily attach to God, but another idea? I'm looking for open ideas here, not condemnation because I don't subscribe to any one religion.

Yes, you can be spiritual and not tied to one deity or any deity at all! I hope someone answers your question more fully! Interesting topic!
