Question for those who receive food stamps.

My daughter normally receives $91.00 a month on her EBT card. She receives SSI and is permanently disabled. She has only received them about 3-4 months. When her account was updated this month, she was only credited $84. Why would that be? No one has contacted her for any information or anything like that. I just remembered something. Her SSI amount went up $25 this month due to a standard across the board increase. Would that be the reason?

I don't recieve food stamps but think I can answer that. Usually any type of increase in income will cause them to alter the amoount you get in food stamps. So yes I think that is why.

yes. i get SSDI and i used to get food stamps. your income amount is directly related to your FS amount. make sure she has claimed all of her bills though. the more money you pay out to approved bills the more you can get for FS.

Unfortunately, the increase in the SSI decreases the FS (which sucks!)
