What's the difference between felting wool and fairy wool?

I am about to place (another) order at my favorite wooden toy site and I noticed they had felting supplies. Can anyone tell me the difference between these types of wool? And which is best for both wet and needle felting.

TIA

One comes from sheep, the other from fairies?

They look the same to me. I'll be checking back to learn the difference.

kan you add a link? I know some suppliers call it fairy wool and that wool corresponds with the felted wool sheets (de witte engel does this) if thats the case only the name is different. But there are wools that naturally don't felt well or at all.

I have seen wool roving called fairy wool, which is the wool you would use for felting.

Here are the links--- they are made by the same manufacturer, have the exact same description (save the words felting and fairy) and look to the naked eye identical...

I sent them an email too to see if they could clarify.

Yep. Sneaky marketing tactics to come up more often in search engines I suppose.

I'd go for the roving for felting. I like to go through Peace Fleece for it, but I suppose the Wooden Wagon is good stuff, too. Though PF is likely to be less expensive as it is bought directly form them (and it supports a wonderful coop!).

You get almost twice the amount from PF for only $2 more.

I have a pack of that Bioland wool and it's good if you are making something like felted balls or that type thing.
It's not great for fairy people or anything that you need to wrap or have smooth. The fairy wool is very coarse.

I use merino wool roving for most felting.
