The only purpose for such a meeting is to find out how to make parents more vaccine compliant.

The link brings up THIS page. DH saw this in the news last night and was SO excited to see that REAL intelligent parents were actually being listened to as to their reasons behind NO VAX. Sure, they are probably trying to get more vax compliance...whatever. If one doctor hears the reasons, and understands them, it's maybe a step in the right direction? I don't know. I don't trust the doctors though...

Is there any information from the CDC or anywhere else that will tell all of us what the rate of diptheria, tetanus, pertussis, measles, mumps, rubella, polio, chicken pox, and other VPDs are in Ashland, OR?

Just thought I would ask. Would be an interesting factoid, don't you think...!

Definitely! If anyone knows, please post...

I am sure they do know, but do not care. If vaccines really worked, all of those poor kids in Ashland would be on crutches, braces or in bed with rashes and fevers.

You couldn't pay me enough to go there and talk about why I don't vax. They are only using it to find out how to get to parents like us. Using our own arguments against us. Its the CDC who wants to know, not like its just drs who live there who want to know.

If anyone is missing the story you can google oregon vaccination under the news section and it should come right up.

what about the rates of VPD in other counties that don't vax - not just Ashland, OR, but for example Amish communities? I mean, they don't vax at ALL right? And how come we never hear on the news about outbreaks of these diseases causing death and suffering in the amish communities? what are the cdc numbers on those - or I'm guessing - they have no idea, maybe or is it somehow required to at least list the cause of death maybe? Now, they intermingle somewhat with the general population now, so one would assume that they are also "at risk" for all of the same diseases we are - has this been discussed before here?
