I am excited Just foudn out my bro and SiL have decided to drop their OB and have a HB with a midwife that also has a birthing center about 30 minutes from here It is exciting for me because my SIL also has crohn's disease and my niece was born at 32 weeks after loosing her twin at 27 weeks. I have Crohn's disease, and have had babies at 36, 35, and 32 weeks.

I was happy to hear that as long as the OB that the midwife occasionally works with says my sil is okay, they will accept her as a patient and okay her for HB If she should happen to deliver a premie again, the MW will attend the hospital birth with the OB.

I was thankful, because that means i will probably not risk out either! I would love to have a homebirth with this babe!

NEAT!! We don't have birthing centers in our area Although I would never meet the criteria. I think the closest birthing centers are 5 + hours away. It is neat some of you get that option. I hate giving birth in a hospital.

thanks tracy- i hope so. they're supposed to call me tomorrow to let me know if i need to schedule my first appointment, or if my obesity/asthma are going to prevent me from being a patient there, and also what the isurance may have to do with it.

i'm hoping to get approved for medicaid as a secondary coverage. i know we're financially in the range, but because i have insurance through my hub's employer, i don't know if i'll get on or not.
