My birth at Special Beginnings was the most positive experience of my life. I had some complications- water breaking 3 days before ctx with light meconium, but it was treated with...
My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...
This is the prettiest carrier, and fit my shoulders and figure (at 5'6") much better than the Ergo. I got it when my daughter was about nine months, two years ago - it doesn't appear to have...
This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...
I have an antique china closet and about 5 boxes of china that I need to have shipped about 1500 miles. Anyone have experience in this and what might be the cheapest/most secure way to do so?
You can ship the china by UPS and have them pack it. It will cost $200-300 (or so) but be fully insured for damage in transit. Call your local UPS store for more exact pricing.
I don't have personal experience with this, but my friend who plays the tuba swears by rail shipping. He said it's the cheapest, safest way to ship big fragile things. Sorry I don't more specific info.
I shipped my great-great-grandmothers china from Washington state to my sister in New Hampshire a couple of years ago. It was service for 12 with all the additional service pieces.
It cost $800 for the packaging and shipping (hee-hee-hee, my sister had to pay the shipping). I let the Postal Expressions store do all the packing for me. Everything arrived in perfect condition.
I have priced out shipping with the UPS and Fedex people... LOLOLOL ... over $1100 each, YIKES!!! I could fly there, rent a uhaul and drive it back myself for less than 1/2 that... I just would prefer not to do so.
Greyhound will ship more cheaply than the regular shpping companies, usually... you do have to deliver it to the station and the person receiving it has to pick it up there, but if it saves you enough $$$ it might be worth it... for the dishes at least - not sure if they do the china cabinet.
When I moved cross country, I had one piece of furniture I wanted to get to my new place. My mother paid for space on a moving truck; the space was shared with other items also in transit. I imagine she checked the Yellow Pages for companies that do this sort of thing.

I was going to suggest this. We looked into this option when moving cross country. It seemed like a great economical way to ship a small amount of otherwise large items. http://www.movex.com/ was one of the companies, though there are others.
