Need advice for transition of a living space...

My sister asked me to see if anyone here had any suggestions for her...

Our father lived with her for many years and passed away recently. He slept in (and practically lived in) the master bedroom of their home. She and her husband would like to move down to that room this summer so their preteen/teen kids can each have their own bedroom upstairs.

She is wondering if there is some ritual she can do so she can comfortably move into the space, in essence having it passed from him to her and her husband.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm just wondering...did he die in that bedroom?

No, he did not.

Is your sister part of a faith community? I ask, because many will have a home blessing that the clergy will do. Perhaps this might be something to look into.

She does go to a Lutheran church, but also has kind of "new age-y" beliefs as well. I sense she's looking for something she can do herself in a meditative sort of way, with candles or incense or the something else calming.

I don't know much about any of these things, so sorry I am kind of clueless here.

Maybe smudging? You can get smudge sticks in any new age store, its a bundle of herbs (usually sage). You burn the herbs (the sage will smolder) and waft the smoke everywhere in the room. She could do this while visualizing the space's energy clearing and becoming neutral. I did this when I moved into my apartment. Hope that helps a little
