Spa "knittable?"

DD's preschool is having a dinner at which gift baskets will be auctioned off. Each class is assigned a theme to prepare - ours is spa/pampering. Each family is asked to contribute an item.

I'm on a shoestring budget, so am hoping to not have to buy anything. I also have a stash, from my more flush days. So, I'm thinking I can knit something.

The obvious spa item would be washcloths, but I don't have any cotton.

I've got quite a bit of baby alpaca. I was thinking a headband, kind of along the lines of putting one's hair back while washing your face, putting on makeup, etc. I know it's not a perfect fit, but what do you think? I've got a light grey color.

Any other ideas? Or pattern suggestion? It has to be relatively easy - I'd say I'm an advanced beginner.
Thanks!

how about a pair of slippers? I'm thinking some cute little slip-on mary janes would be ideal. The spa/salon I go to always has slippers for people to use when they are going from treatment to treatment in the spa

I was going to suggest the same thing. I think a headband would be nice too. I bought a headband/small facecloth package from here:

(I know you want to make your own, just in case you're looking for inspiration)

Take care,

If the theme is spa/pampering then I'd do a pair of socks. Or, I guess, slippers, but I think socks would be nicer overall especially at this time of year.

I'd do a slipper or sock w/ matching headband.

Ok, I'll go for the footwear

Now...for a pattern I can master! What do you think about pocketbook slippers? I'd love a more elegant looking ballet slipper, but I thought that might be more complicated.

I've never made socks - is there a real beginners pattern that would still look nice?

Finally, what do you think about making slippers or socks in baby alpaca? It doesn't seem like the sturdiest wool, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thank you all!!

-google Silver's Sock Tutorial and add eight, maybe twelve rows of seed stitch at the top or whatever else you feel like, plus a buttonhole.

Hold the yarn double and knit these:

-tbh, the last would probably be my preferred option.

I know you've made a decision . . . but I'd go with pedicure socks! No toes! You can find those on ravelry, too, I'm sure.
