Best carrier for a 13 month old toddler?

Due to family circumstances (no cash) I haven't been able to wear my latest baby in a sling. (I let someone borrow my slings before I had ds and she doesn't remember me ever doing that. ) Anyhow, I'd really like to get or make a sling/carrier for my son. Can anyone tell me what would be best for a walking 13 month old for back carries, etc....? I am a size 3x person too, so that complicates me being able to buy ready-made slings.

Thanks for your time and suggestions.

I'd get a Kozy - comfiest on the back, imo, and will grow with your toddler!

I have something similiar to the kozy, it's a mei tai that is more Asian inspired, and it does work out great for front and back carrying. I also used it up until DS was around 16/17 months. At that point, he was getting too heavy to carry.

I think mei tais or SSCs (soft structured carriers) are good for back carries! The MT will be more adjustable for various sizes, just make sure you get long enough straps - ideally 80" or more for shoulder straps IMO so you can do all the various tying options.

the ergo works well for us (back carry).

Thanks for the replies. I'll start shopping for a mei tai of some stripe or another.
