Like, I had tabouli, salad, broccoli and a small piece of country bacon for dinner and I'm pleasantly full. And I always have beet kvass before dinner and take CLO with fresh-squeezed lemon after, so I'm totally satisfied right now.

I always start my meals with salad or sauerkraut and then move on to a green and then I eat the meat or cheese stuff and add some carbs, but at that point, I only need like 2 mouthfuls of something, to feel satisfied (and usually I eat it because it looks good and not because I'm still hungry).
In the morning I start with yogurt or kefir and then just have eggs, it's very satisfying (I occasionally have it with bacon, yum)
Im glad you said that because i was JUST thinking that a couple minutes ago before checking this post again. I think i need to incorporate more "sides" if you will in the form of greens and soups and such.

Maybe it's lack of carbs....we are pretty low carb just because we don't eat grains (except the occasional bowl of oats which makes us all feel like crap.) I had rice tonight with my chicken & broccoli (cooked in bone broth, drenched in butter) & it took much, MUCH longer for the cravings to kick in. All I really wanted was a cup of hot tea....with raw milk.

For me, for some reason, the full-fat dairy is just really satisfying. Cream, blueberries, and a touch of honey are super yummy and satisfying. Yogurt and bananas, wonderful! I love it! Oh, and there is nothing like some homemade ice cream to end the day.

Must stop now. I need to go to bed, not eat more food!

Yeah it seems to be working really well so far.

My mother just lost 110lbs on weight watchers. Well, its been 3 years. She is very into low fat though, and that's where we disagree. She likes to eat A LOT so she'll eat low point cereal in mixing bowls. I'd rather eat healthy high fat stuff in smaller portions.

And I like it because I can keep my weekly 6 point whole milk latter

Metasequoia - Out of curiosity, did you tolerate the rice well? I, too, feel like total crap after eating a bowl of oatmeal. It's sooooo convenient, but I just feel absolutely horrible afterward (even soaked with a load of fat in it).

Since rice is not an option for me (brown rice is not grown in Australia, where I reside. It has to be imported and sprayed with all kinds of chemicals because of quarantine) I have been eating a bit of sweet potato after dinner and it keeps me satisfied.

I thought milk was high carb (maybe I'm wrong). If you drink milk, is that not satisfying enough?

One more thing, your siggy. When I am feeling like a TOTAL wimp in the kitchen I just look at your siggy. Single...TFing...Homeschooling...Three kids... Oh.my.goodness...how do you do it? You are SUPER WOMAN!!!

Both my husband and I had terrible cravings after dinner. Sometimes it was for something sweet, sometimes for something creamy, but it was always there. We took out all sugar from our diet... even honey, maple syrup and molassas, and within a week our cravings went away. We now use agave nectar or stevia once in a while, but we have gotten used to the natural flavor of foods without added sugar.

Another thing that can cause cravings is dehydration... do you drink enough water all day? If you crave something try drinking a cup of water and waiting a little bit to see if your craving goes away.

I am really missing my raw milk and raw butter... We have been on a gluten free dairy free diet for my son.

I think I'm always hungry now because lately I'm constantly reading about and thinking about shopping/cooking/eating in TF fashion, and everything sounds so amazingly tasty! Mmm, blueberries with real cream. :

everything does taste so good and it's exciting to think about what to cook next.....

I think what pp said about water is very true, I notice sometimes I am craving "something" and then if I drink water it goes away, magically.....

I'm totally fine with rice - but maybe it's because of the stock, butter & buttload of sea salt.

Maybe that's why I crave dairy, maybe it is the carbs...

Because of my adrenal insufficiency, I have a sodium/potassium imbalance, so I'm always dehydrated & plain water makes it worse by further throwing off the ratio. I'm supposed to drink salt water, but it's gross, so I just heavily salt everything (which is what my body tells me to do anyway) & drink water when I'm thirsty. I need to fix the root of the problem first, then I won't be so dehydrated.

i seem to remember something in NT about fermented/naturally carbonated beverages (like kombucha, kvass, etc) reducing "post-prandial cravings". that always stuck in my head. i haven't experimented to find out though. i really really enjoy my evening snacks. which *do* usually involve dairy and a bit of sweet and carb. hmmm..... but anyhow, it seems the beverage thing could relate to the dehydration theory. b/c i think that kind of beverage might hydrate you more than just water-- do you think? the other thing that occurred to me is have you tried having lemon in your water? i always feel like that helps the water be absorbed better (though good salt seems important too)......
