bind off/finishing question...

I am knitting the worlds most boring item- a stockingette triangle shawl. You know the one- where it is a simple triangle on size 8s where you cast on 400 stitches and decrease one on each end every single row till yo get to the bottom? Well- I decided to go against conventional wisdom (and I was afraid of running out of yarn (which is hotrod from knitpicks in the alpaca- gorgeous!).. and I started at the bottom and am almost to the top.... well- how the heck should I bind this puppy off so that the top edge looks beautiful too? I have 13 of the worlds longest rows to decide..... suggestions? pretty please?

Elizabeth Zimmerman's sewn bind-off. IMO, it's the most appealing of the stretchy bind-offs.

Yes! Thank You! That is what I will do- I really want it to look like I started at the top and the braid effect of a normal knit bind off is just not the look I want! Good thing I checked on this- only 6.5 more rows to go!

Hey, it's better than what I did- finishing the shawl, binding off and then realising I needed something far more elastic.

I ended up felting it in a fit of pique. Not the most mature thing I could havedone, perhaps?

omg- it is taking forever! I watched 2 hours of tv and am still not even halfway there yet.

I hate it when I get leaked off at a project and do that. But it is satisfying too in a weird way- like the project doesn't own me- so there. take that hot wash!

Leaked off? Hysterical.

I've felt moved to try to beat up on more than one piece of knitting. Being the pacifist that I am, however, I refrained from actually striking, um, yarn.

I finished it last night- that is exactly the perfect bind off and I will be using it a lot now that I know how to do it.

SV- really? I get leaked all the stinking time and feel it is better to take it out on yarn or something equally as irritating than something/someone that actually cares.... saves my sanity.
