Didy: When and How for forward facing?

I received a Didy as a gift (had been wanting one since babe #2) and new DS loves to be in there. He is 8.5 weeks. At what point can I put him in facing out and how do I go about doing that? I'm not sure his head control is quite good enough yet.

Honestly forward facing is the least comfortable position for the wearer, so I would recommend just skipping it entirely, unless/ until he gets to a stage where he's just DYING to see out and you aren't ready to do back carries! We just did front facing in until my LO was about 5 months old, at which point I introduced the back carry and sometimes a hip carry!

Yeah..I second that it is very uncomfortable for the wearer, especially when they get heavier. I used to put my baby forward facing when we used to hike a lot and she wasn't sleeping and got cranky. (I still haven't really mastered back carry yet with the wrap). Maybe she was 3 months old or so. She had pretty decent head control though.

You can do a buddha carry once the baby has good head control. 3-4 months ish we would do this briefly. I agree it's not very comfy for the wearer. You just fold their legs up in front of them and stick them in.

Why do you want him to face out? If he's straining to see things, you can put him in a semi-reclined cradle so his head is able to turn and see things but is still being supported.
