This is the new add slogan for immuniztions in UT! These are televised adds that have a Dr. saying its ok to immunize your baby even when sick or on antibiotics!!!! I'm appalled. Do any other states have this? Here is the link for the website:

I'm in TX, and the whole "Vaccines are like hugs. You don't want to miss one." has been driving me crazy.

That site is gross. Do they really think a main reason for not vaxing is lac of time? Seriously? Ick.

LOL...I took the slogan to mean something completely different (like, "it's up to you = you have the option" ). Then I saw the site... I originally thought the state was really cool for giving the option. :

I am in nursing schoool now and we talked about immunizations today and the whole class I was seething and holding my tongue. I wanted to say something but I need her to write me a recommendation. She kept saying its ok to give them to babies with low grade fevers, who are mildly sick, not to believe what is in the media about autism b/c its a lie. What is funny is that in the beginning of class she mentioned that babies are breastfed b/c their immune systems aren't developed yet and they need to be nursed for the first 6 months of their life, but later in the class she mentioned people with depressed immune systems shouldn't get vaccinations?? Totally contradicted herself but hey some people can't see past the bull but I know my child will not be vaxed.

"The nurse will put your child on an accelerated schedule to complete the series of shots. "
***That part made me sick. As if they aren't pumping those toxins in fast enough...

We have "Done by One" here : Yeah and the little shot record thing says it's ok to give shots when sick.......

UGH! The kicker for me was the whole "you can vaccinate even with these 'mild' symptoms"- yeah, mild things like chronic illness and neurological disorders!
and the line about "my doctor didn't tell me my baby needed shots" -
Where are these doctors????

If you love your baby- immunize. My favorite. Something to that degree.

Yeah, good things it's up to me, because it ain't happening.

Oh well, I guess, some people just won't see the irony in that one. I indeed payed with my health when I got vaxed the last time. How true.

"I can't take time off from work to take my baby to the doctor"

Taking time now to immunize your child can save you much more time later if your child becomes ill.
Pharma co have always appealed to parents not wanting to take time off work for a sick child. Back when cp vax came out and I read the marketing leaflet for drs offices that was the main point. No need to take time off work or kids missing school.

These is not really a new slogan, when my son was a newborn I got a card with his yellow vaccine card, that had this slogan on it along with the vax schedule. I also remember hearing this slogan when I was a teen, when we used to live in colorado. I remember looking at the posters and wondering what it ment.

I got a "reminder" card from my old PPO (just switched 1/1) about vaccinating DD. I'm on theirs and the state's "bad list", which means my mailbox is bombarded with scare tactics and vaccine propaganda on a regular basis. I'm tempted to send them a letter requesting to be taken off the list, but doubt it will be paid any attention to.

that's what I took it to mean to, and I'm thinking hey, they are actually saying we have a CHOICE! Too good to be true, though!
