Where to donate yarn?

I am doing a MAJOR yarn destash, and I wanted to send some good wool and sock yarns to charities that could use it.

Do you know of any non-profit groups that would appreciate some yarn?

Thanks!

You could look for a chapter of The Knitting Guild Association or the Crochet Guild of America in your area:

When I had a load of yarn to de-stash, I donated it to our town's senior center. They really appreciated the fun yarns to knit and crochet for crafts and gifts.

We have a "Warm Up America" chapter in my area who I know takes donated yarn. It would be nice if they had some nice wool to knit...they generally get a lot of acrylic.

The Mother Bear Project accepts yarn donations. I think they would only want whatever worsted weight you have.
