I need help learning to knit in the round with dpns. I can't even hold on to all of them much less hold them and knit too. Any tips, tutorials, or videos would be greatly appreciated. I'm determined to figure it out before the day is over.

Personally I am lazy and almost always magic loop everything. One exception being slippers- but socks- all about the long circular.

It can be frustrating to learn to knit w/DPNs, but once you do it's awesome.

I usually hit youtube for any knitting videos. Whatever I'm looking to learn there are usually a ton of videos & then I can view each of them til I find one that makes sense to my brain. Good luck!

I don't own any cirular needles so dpns is the only option for knitting in the round right now. I'm hoping nap time will bring success, if not I'll be diving in deep at bedtime. I have two new projectts I want to work on but the both require mastering this skill first.

Thanks so much for all the links. I've checked out knittinghelp and I'll be watching the others too. I tried to learn to knit from youtube and it was a mess so I'll avoid that unless I'm desperate (I think I was learning Continental and English at the same time- ha!).

It is easier once you get a few rows in. You don't have to hold onto all the needles, just the two you are knitting at the moment, although sometimes if you are knitting something with a small number of stitches it is tricky to get the first couple rows done without needles sliding out of the stitches.

I had a real problem with it at first. But a couple things that made it easier... starting with a large size needle, and putting protectors on the ends of the needles so the stitches don't slide off. I've used erasers or those pads you put on pencils to make gripping easier.
