41 Weeks Tomorrow, Advice Please - UPDATE IN POST #30 !!! - Page 2

I would start doing kick counts, and if something doesn't seem right after drinking some orange juice and lying down on my left side, I would go to the Dr. ASAP. At 43 weeks, if I'm still not in labor, I would go to the doctor as well. The mortality rate for overdue infants doesn't increase significantly until 43 weeks. Personally (and I had an HBAC here, so I'm not trying to be all medical on you) I would get the baby out past 43 weeks. It's not worth it (IMO) if I know the due date for certain.

Good luck!

BUT- "getting the baby out" (induction or section) carries risks as well. And my ds was still *barely* ready when he finally decided to join us.

My youngest was 43w 1d when he was born. He came out just right. Not overdone and not underdone. I really feel, instinctively, that he needed to be in there as long as he was. It was hard to wait that long, but we got through it. I also had WEEKS of prodromal labor which was extremely frustrating for me.

He weighed 9lb 3oz. (My oldest, born at 39w 5d, was 9lb 8oz! And middle one was 40w and weighed 7lb 14oz.)

I too wanted to respond to this post, but I'm just going to say I agree with Angela!

I had a 44 weeker that was 9 lbs and I regret letting them induce me especially since it failed and I ended up with a c-section. She was posterior too. There was no reason to induce me, I just couldn't take listening to everyone ask me if it was time yet and was young and alone. I wish I'd had support, I was a single mom stuck with only "support" from my mother that I can't stand. I wish I could have run off holed up in a cabin in the woods with just a real supportive person and no phone.

I do truly believe that babies come out when they are ready.

Well, I know your question wasn't for me, but I was sure about my dates within a few days and my babe was born at 43wks 6 dys and was my smallest at 5lbs 9 oz. And might I add, in PERFECT health!

Little Lila Rose was born peacefully, at home, unassisted on Jan. 21st at 0130 (at exactly 42 weeks)!!!

I really wish I could have posted sooner! Long story short - We moved into a new home when I was 41w 3d along (I think the baby was waiting for the move before making her appearance ) so I had no internet, and because AT&T screwed up my order I still don't : (I'm at the public library now!)

Anyway, I have a wonderful UC story to share! I'll be doing that soon (and posting it SOON too hopefully!
