a beautiful story in AGNI online--and it happens to be about a lotus birth

I was looking for inspiration, for something good to read, and clicked on a random story in AGNI online.

A lotus birth, planting a placenta, are rather central there, as the grandmother is trying to come to terms with her husband's death.

Beatiful story! (even if the grandma is not fully getting the idea behind a lotus birth)

Anyone else read it?

I love the scene the grandmother guards the hydrangea at night, worried that an animal might dig the placenta up, and how desperately she's trying to maintain the relationship with her daughter. I thought it was very poignant.

I really loved that story. I didn't even mind that the grandmother didn't understand that scene because she did such a good job of showing the generation gap and the difference in world paradigms. She reminded me a lot of my mother in fact. Couldn't understand, but always there showing support in her funny little ways.

I really liked how it became grandmother's secret, and how she was willing to say NO to the pond in the yard. And how she was accepting her daughter through the love that she had for her dead husband.
