I have a sweater I bought to felt an it is 15% acrylic. It won't felt enough to suit me and I washed it every load for a month. Based on that experience I would say no, but the thing to do would be to knit a swatch and try it.

i agree. i've read that too. i guess what i don't know is if mohair felts. the combo of the wool and mohair might work...hmmmm? maybe i'll just have to give it a test :
Well, it seems that mohair will felt but not as easily as will sheep wool. I know that Peace Fleece (which is 70% wool, 15% mohair) doesn't felt very easily at all.
I would still think that the yarn that you have has too much acrylic, but you can always give it a try
