They're upstairs....

*sigh*
I know I should go up and check on them. I also know that I'm going to blow my top if they're causing havoc. It's been a really rough day around here, and I'm on edge. If I don't go up, and they're getting into stuff that the shouldn't, the chaos will be worse. But, if I stay down here, I can subscribe to the "if I don't know what's happening, I don't have to deal with it" approach.

I haven't figured out how to get the liquid paper off the carpet, and I need to get them on cleaning up the disastrous living room (all the Playmobil dollhouse figures and all the Duplo, plus miscellany, are scattered everywhere).

Do you have days where you just don't wanna?

I'm hiding in my basement too.

I hear Lego pieces being tossed across the living room floor. Sirens and shooting and screaming of jet fighters and drama is occurring. Luckily, though, they are playing with each other. No fighting yet.

I'm freezing down here though and am going to sneak up to the warm bedroom and hope I don't get intercepted.

Countdown to bedtime.

They were fine...until ds2 came downstairs with my bottle of spray-in conditioner (my major cosmetic vice) - sending droplets flying everywhere.

*sigh*
I don't have the patience for parenting today. Tomorrow, they're going to Go Bananas to burn off some of this cabin fever. Maybe I'll feel up to getting us out walking again by Thursday...

I don't think we're going to Go Bananas. DS2 has a runny nose, and indoor playgrounds don't tend to want people smearing gick all over everything.

This is the eternal bug...

A day or two ago I had finally snuck upstairs for a shower or something (first one in, like 5 days!) and was running around putting stuff away, etc, when I hear DH bringing LO upstairs to be nursed. As a reflex, I actually jumped in the guest room to hide. :

The dang dog gave me away! Traitor. :

I don't know what that was all about. I don't think it was my LO so much as my DH- whenever he "takes over" with the baby I feel his eyes following me everywhere.... like "What am I supposed to do with him now?"

And everytime DS makes a peep my DH says he's "screaming." And everytime DS is less than happy, DH says he's either hungry or has gas.

*sigh*

Today was a total write-off. I hope I get some sleep tonight, because this is getting bad. Today:

DS2 peed on the carpet again.

While I was cleaning that up, he stuck his sister's snowwoman (stocking stuffer) in my coffee cup...I never leave my coffee unattended, but I had this emergency pee clean up...

DD was climbing the counters all day.

DS2 scratched up the dining table - not even sure what he used. I thought they were just drawing. It's probably a good thing that this is an old, second-hand dining table that's already in bad shape, but...ugh.

DS2 threw cards - two different kinds - all over the living room.

DS2 whacked me in the face, smashing my glasses into my nose and sinuses, snapped my neck back, and brought back the headache that was finally going away.

The kids had at least three violent physical altercations.

It doesn't happen very often, but I'm really wondering why I wanted more kids, why I wanted to be a SAHM, how I though I could possibly homeschool, and what on earth makes me think I'm going to be able to cope with baby-under-construction!!

there's a product called "Goof off", it's kept around where goo-gone and that kind of stuff is...It stinks really bad, but it should get the liquid paper up. I used it to get roof coat (this gooey stuff that keeps aluminum roofs from leaking) off my brand new carpet a few years ago.

I've been known to say "Go do that somewhere where I don't have to watch you!"

Marie - I love that. I'll have to keep it in mind!

These carpets are a write-off, anyway. This is a rental, and the carpets are old and not in very good shape. They looked okay when we first moved in, but I suspect they were probably already in need of replacing. That said...I'm glad they weren't replaced, because I'd feel incredibly awful about all the things we've done to them.

This sounds like my DH. I have been known to go sit on the toilet even if I didn't have to go, just to get some peace. Of course my DH has also been known to follow me into the bathroom and stand there with DS and wait for me to finish. Now I tell him my stomach hurts before I go so he's not as likely to want to go in there lol.
