Babies Name: Parker Thomas
Babies Gender: male
Date of Birth: 1/8/09
EDD: 1/10/09
Statistics: 7lbs. 19" 9/9 APGAR
Birth Story: On 1/4, I awoke in horrible pain. It kept getting worse and worse. I didn't know if I was contracting or what. It seemed that most of the pain was on the left side. After my false alarm on the previous Thursday, I hesitated to call anyone. However after 4 hours of crying, I decided to check my pee. There was a lot of blood in it again, so I called the midwife. I told her that I thought something serious was going on. She decided to meet me at the hospital. SO took me in and we did all that lovely admitting stuff. They did an U/S on my kidneys and found a stone the size of a golf ball. It was blocking up my right kidney which was filling with fluid to the point that they worried that it might burst. It was decided that we needed to get the baby out. So for the next several days, they had me on a lot of pain meds and tried to get me into labor using Cervadil and such. The Cervadil wasn't working and they discovered that because of my LEEP the scar tissue was preventing me from dilating. The next day, they tried manually breaking up the scar tissue and trying to get me to dilate. During this time, my kidneys started causing me to get toxic. They had to put me on Magnesium Sulfate and I was getting sicker and sicker. On the morning of 1/8, I still had not dilated at all. They decided to try Pitocin would probably rupture my uterus. So an emergency C-section was done. Breastfeeding is going great. We got home from the hospital on Sunday and now we are trying to figure out what to do about these kidney stones.
