What do you charge for part-time day care?

Hi all,

I was wondering if I can get some stats on what part-time day care (20 hours a week) is costing nowadays.
When my 7 yr old was little, I was BLESSED with a wonderful provider who did daycare in her home and she only charged me $60 a week for part-time care...$240 a month.Can you believe it?

Provided that was a few years ago, I am out of the loop.
We interviewed another woman last week and she said she would charge me $120 a week for half-day care, 4 days a week (20 hrs total) for my 2 year old ($480 a month).

So I guess I just want a sense of what is normal, what is too much...

That is actually exactly what my fee would be for half-day care, including lunch.

I notice that you are in Canada...may I ask if this is your fee Canadian dollars or US dollars? Pardon me if this is a reallyl dumb question LOL

Yeah, my fee is Canadian dollars --- sorry for not getting back to you, I forgot to subscribe to the thread when responding.

I also live in an area in Canada that is very high demand for childcare.

My half-day fee, including lunch and a pickup after lunch but before nap is 75% of my full day fee, if that ratio helps.

I'm in Maryland and I charge part-time clients $6 an hour.

I haven't done daycare in a while but anything less than 30 hours was part time and i charged $3 an hour. that was about 9 years ago though. Now I would charge $4-$5.
