Looking for feedback on blog colors

This is my newest endeavour. There aren't any ads on it and no real content (just test posts) but I'm looking for feedback on the colors/look and feel. This is a WordPress e-zine theme so the layout can't be tweaked much but the colors can be customized.

There is a lot of dead space under the posts in the main column area, once the site has content and pictures with all of the posts, this dead space will be filled.

I like them all, but i think that that right box is a little bright? but then, i'm not a fan of bright colours, so it is probably just me. it sounds very interesting, the name & all, i will be back for more

i like it! i wish i could get mine to look like that!! ... someone stole every last piece of my template so i had to change it radically, and was going for something like you've got there, but it just looks messy.

off to see if there's a similar blogger template (don't worry, i won't steal your ideas! that would be a real pee-pants thing to do!)

At least on my screen they look "cool", and I'd prefer "warmer" greens. But the colours look nice!

Thanks. I forgot to check them on my desktop computer. On my laptop the colors are always more subdue looking and that is definitely what I'm after.

I love the body green, but I agree with a pp that the box on the right (and maybe the title--although I loooove the font!) seems a bit bright. Would a softer brown do as well for you or would that be too subtle?

I love the layout! I agree with making the colors on the right a little more subdued to match the overall feel. It really looks great.

aoife - you checked after I changed the top colors and before I'd gone through and changed the colors on the right hehe.

Thank you all for your feedback. When I checked it on my desktop this morning I felt like I needed sunglasses - definitely bright. I have the brightness turned way down on my laptop and forget that it skews the colors.

wordmommy - I tried a light brown and it looked nice but I ended up reverting to a softer green from the same family as the darker green, whaddya think?

I think I have it all tweaked on the back-end as well. I'm hoping to get some time this weekend to populate all of the categories with a few posts each. Once that is done then it will just need the regular updates.

I've been wanting to do this topic for a long time but it took me awhile to find a domain name that I liked that wasn't taken.
