MUST-READ BOOK: Healing the New Childhood Epidemics: Autism, ADHD, Asthma, and Allergies

This book was recommended by a friend and it is SO GOOD. I absolutely recommend it! It's kinda scientific in some parts but absolutely required reading for any "thinking" parent concerned about vaccines, diet, environmental toxins, etc.

Anyway, I am half-way through and plan to lend it to all my mommy friends when I finish reading.

Yes, I highly recommend it also. I have asthma/allergies and I wonder what triggered them. Have never had myself tested for toxins.

I got through most of the book earlier this summer. It goes into a LOT of detail and I think also goes into a lot of detail of what DAN! doctors do.

The one thing I really wish he'd discussed in more detail is how mom's toxic load, transferred to her kids, factors into the other sources of toxins we come in contact with. I think it's a big deal in terms of how different kids react to the stresses, including vaccines, that they come in contact with.

I agree. This was a very eye-opening book.

In summary, he says that the 4 A's are caused by inflammation in the body. The inflammation is triggered by toxic overload, and vaccines, of course, contribute to that toxic load. He offers case studies of his own patients and outlines his treatment plans in great detail. One of the most interesting books I read last year!

He still says "but of course you should still get your kid vaccinated". There are some very anti-vaccine parts of it, but he still has to put in that disclaimer and toe the party line. That annoys me.

I read it during a long road trip and read passages out loud to DF while he was driving. It was a large influence in our no-vax decision.

Just wanted to bump this thread again. I am saddened that more people don't know about this EXCELLENT book. It's truly eye opening and every parent should read it. I know it's a little difficult -- I admit to not being able to get through some parts of it -- but even the small bits I read here and there are just so good.

It's one of my favorite books regarding allergies, ADD/ADHD and autism spectrum conditions. He wrtes in a way that's readily accessible to everyone. There's enough information without being too technical. I recommend to parents all the time.

I might peruse it but I am wary of all the "I know the source of autism" books.
