. I was pretty selective on my own... I didn't like truly gothic spooky books or overly sexy ones. Sheesh, even Jane Eyre gave me moral dillemma ponderings that kept me up nights! I don't know how I remained so sheltered without censorship . But my mom did go through a historical romance novel phase when I was a teen and I swiped books from her shelf sometimes. I'm sure she knew. I would skim them and just read the sexy bits.
