Anyone have a pattern or tutorial for robeez? They are insanely expensive for such a simple LOOKING pattern, don't you you think?

Any links or advice appreciated
Thanks!

no time to go into details but will come back later and edit this

these are the links i have in my bookmarks (copy and paste for now, I'll put them in as actual links after naptime)

it's really easy to do! you can even draft your own pattern and size once you get the idea.

I've used the darling diapers mini moc pattern before and it's insanely easy!

You have to pay for this one, but the bonus is you get lots of sizes and they're bigger than the 6 month size that most free ones are. I've sewn with this one and found it to be okay. I modified the back/heel piece a bit to fit my preferences, though.

I heart these-

They're super cute, and easily changable. I made my nephew a pair xmas before last, and put little ears eyes and teeth on to make monster booties. They were way adorable!

What do you all use for the soles and where did you get the fabric?

Kimono Baby shoes

Suede works great for the soles. Suede bonded fleece is super nice for making warm shoes. It is fleece on one side, suede on the other. I but my suede from Joann fabrics, and I have found suede bonded fleece on etsy.

I've made them for non-walkers using an ultra suede kind of fabric. I've also made them with an ordinary quilter's cotton - again for non-walking babies.

The ultra suede worked well for even after our LO started walking, but they're just for indoor use.

As for where I get the fabric - I shop garage sales, thrift stores, JoAnn's, online quilting stores, etc.

I've been making the mini mocs using a leather skirt/pants from a thrift store ($2 total!). If the leather gets slick, I rough it up with sandpaper. I made some out of felted wool that are great for dewey mornings!
