Want to start bf my 13 mo old again

I am trying to find out if it's possible to get my 13 mo old to relatch and nurse after having stopped about 5 mo ago. Our donor milk mamma has stopped nursing and we are thinking if i start nursing her again that maybe it would help? How do i get my milk supply to start again? Is this possible? She only has two vaccines so we were relying on the immunity from the breastmilk and are now concerned that we need to do something more

and i only got to breastfeed her for four weeks because when she was first born we live 2 hours from my job and i had to go to exclusively pumping as a result because i had to go back after 5 weeks. We now live 20 min from my job and i think i could be available to her enough to maybe get a routine going again?? I don't know...i never got that connection with her and am hopeful its not too late for either of us. I feel there has always been a disconnect between us because we never got that time.

Thoughts? Experience? Help? Advice?

I would look around for advice on relactating or on lactating for an adopted baby. Also, there was just an article in this months Mothering about a toddler un-weaning. She was 3 I believe and mom just had a baby so she had milk. Good luck! Try:

I used domperidone to induce lactation for my adopted daughter. It works great and is pretty much free of side effects. I got my daughter to nurse for the first time at 5 months and my son for the first time at 22 months. I would contact your local La Leche League for some help. Good luck.

Once you have more milk, I would have your daughter watch other babies nurse. It is probably the best way to get her interested in nursing.

oh wow! thank you so much both for your advice! i have tons of domperidone left over from when i was pumping so this is great news!
