Ew- pooling.

I don't know what the deal is- I know it is all random luck- but seriously I am having some of the worst pooling disasters of my life.... Yesterday I knit a pair of picky pants and I thought the pooling was as bad as it could possibly get- well they still are adorable- now I am making another pair- a larger size- different yarn- and I have weird zigzags on the whole body. I think I might just go with it though.... unless I get them done and decide I can't possibly put them on my baby- then they will be ripped I guess...

grrrrr.

Thank you! I learned something new today!
I had no idea what pooling was....my first thought was, 'does she mean pilling?'
Had to look up the term online.
...so, weird bloches of colour when you are knitting with your varigated wool.
I'm interested in seeing the pants!

If they are that bad you can at least post them on the "worst pooling" thread on Rav before you frog them. I really hope you don't do all that work to hate them.

I knit to the gusset and then decided there was no way I could ever look at those again so I frogged the whole thing. When Istarted them in a smaller size they look so much better! Perfect in fact! I am usually open to pooling but these were so horrid I couldn't even take a pic...... all that work? I am resigned to only knitting while I continue to gestate. That is all I can force myself to accomplish- the yarn budget was probably happy to have me waste that time!

Yes, all that work! It would have been for me since I still knit **really** slow. I never got past casting on until after Christmas when DD1 got her knitting book, so I've only been really knitting for about 3 weeks. Before Christmas I didn't have time to get to the LYS for a class and youtube tuts are not for me.

Knitting while gestating sounds perfect. I'm excited to hear about your birth and your newest family member. You don't know ifyour having a boy or a girl, right?

One way I avoid polling like that is to split the skein in two balls and alternate balls every few rows (usually 2-3) so that you're able to minimize the long repeats all stacking up together. Just make sure you start the balls in different spots of color when you first join them

Knittin in the Shade-
That is a great idea- but I have like 75 grams of left over 3IG I am tyring to use up.... It is left over from DS's longies- but ya know what- the size small is going to be so much better anyway- I got to the crotch and had a panic attack that they would be shorts The size small pooled exactly like the toddler sized- they are so perfect! I'll post a pic of them when I am done...
