How long does CO last?

I'm getting down to the bottom of my bucket of CO, and need to place another order. DH and I are debating whether it's worth it for us to buy 5 gallons instead of 1 at a time, since it's a decent cost savings, but I'm not sure how long it'll last. It's taking us about 4 months to go through a gallon, so 5 gallons would take probably a year and a half-ish. Will (unrefined) CO go rancid in that time frame?

Well i don't know about 5 gallons, but I have 2 small jars of unrefined virgin CO that i've had for at least 2 years and they are fine. I found them in a box in the garage. I just recently unpacked the last few things out there so they would have survived through 4 seasons plus the year before .

My understanding is that it is so saturated that it will last ages, at least 2 years, at fairly normal room temperatures.
