Let me start off by saying that c-sections suck
On the 26th I had my cerclage removed ( for those who are wondering what the heck a cerclage is, it is a round loop of suture placed around the cervix to prevent preterm delivery for those of us who have an incompetent cervix, or its needed sometimes for carrying multiples). Any who I have an incompetent cervix.
On the 28th I started having contractions and they started out pretty hot and heavy. I contracted for about 3 hours then went to the hospitol.
When I got there I was rigged up to the monitor and right away we noticed something wasnt right. Simons heartrate kept dipping way low with every contraction, so my very wonderful OB did and US to figure out what was up.
Simons cord was prolapsed and we where in great danger of losing him. So much much much to my horror I was wheeled in for an emergancy c-section.
I had a wonderful vaginal birth with Landon, and I need a stitch just to keep them in there safely and I have to go ahead and have a c-section.
As you can tell the delivery was a bit of a disapointment well you havnt heard the best part.
Simon had to be rushed by ambulance to a Larger hospitol 3 hours away because he had clinical pheumonia. He spent 8 days in the NICU there (where I stayed with him) then was shipped to our local hospitol where he was delivered and now we are going on day 8 here trying to ween him off the oxygen.
I have had to stay here with him because I insist an artificial nipple never touch his lips. He is nursing great, a real natural. I cant keep my eyes off him he is so sweet.
I have had absolutely no trouble bonding with this little charmer and look forward to happier calmer days at home being his mama.
