Thick chili recipe

Does anyone have a really good, beany chili recipe? I don't like soupy chili, though - only the really thick ones that taste cuminy and not too acid/tomato flavored. Easy peasy, right? lol I keep striking out with chili recipes - not thick enough, even though I puree a lot of the beans, too tomato-ey....something is always wrong with it. It would be especially great if you have a slow cooking recipe.

I have one from the Joy Of Cooking, that I live.
It's Wild Caribbean Black Bean Chili. It does call for tomatoes and lots of citrus though, and I add meat to it. For me, it is very thick but I suppose it's relative. Let me know if you're interested.

IDK, do you like the chili from wendy's?? I have a recipe that makes chili basicly like that... we like it thick too, but we thicken it with saltines I can post it if you'd like

I've got one that's kind of a combination of Chili Con Carne from the Betty Crocker Cookbook and "Cincinnati chili".
