My daughter is 2.5 weeks old and has suddenly gone from a great baby to a very fussy baby. I am wondering if its due to her latch and getting too much air. I have a really hard time getting her to open her mouth wide and she usually ends up with not much more then the nipple and a little areola in her mouth (however its hard to figure out because I have large areolas) Could she just be getting too mcuh air? I hear a lot of clicking...

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Definitely go over the basics of positioning and latch: make sure you bring baby to your breast (not breast to baby); her ear, shoulder, and hip should be aligned and her body supported well by your arm and/or pillows; make a "breast sandwich" by using the c-hold to get more of the breast in her mouth; don't be shy about pushing her chin down to get a wide opening (might need help with this one); point the nipple toward the roof of her mouth; make sure her tongue is cupping the nipple and that both lips are out (like fishlips); support your breast during the entire feed so that her latch doesn't get shallower as time goes on.
Good luck!
