My cousin's little girl used it a few years ago when she was an infant. They swore by it and when I watched her and used it the gripe water definately would calm her. It wouldn't hurt to try...definately better than the Mylicon drops.

I used it with both boys & it seemed to help calm them quite a bit. Ds2 seemed to love it, actually.

I can't say that I saw a difference really when I used it.

It helped my oldest with his stomach/gas issues when he was younger.

Why is it better than Mylicon? Mylicon has the same active ingrident as Gasx, which works. When we took our daughter to the ER (for what turned out to be an ear infection but after several hours of non-stop screaming, I wanted a doctor to look at her) the doc explained that the body doesn't absorb simethicone, so you can essentially take as much as you need. When my daughter was diagnosed with Reflux, her ped gastro recommended Maalox Ultra for breakthrough reflux, and that REALLY helps with gas.

Baby's Bliss (which was the gripe water we tried) has ginger, fennel, and sodium bicarb (baking soda) which are all known to help with tummy upset. I didn't find it helped my daughter at ALL but I think you need more than a few drops of any of those things for them to help. I know that if you're an adult drinking fennel tea for upset stomach, you're supposed to drink like five cups a day or something. Which is not to say you should up the dose of Gripe Water, just that I don't know if there's enough helpful stuff there to, well, help.

My little guy has had painful gas since birth.
We tried Gripe Water and found out that the Baking Soda can kill the good
bacteria in his stomach. So we switched to Colic Calm which doesn't have Baking Soda in it. It's made with vegetable charcoal. They only problems with
it is it's black and stains and it's a little expensive. But when he's screaming in pain I don't care about stains or money, I just want to help him feel better.
And about 3 or 4 minutes after taking it he's fine. He will calm right down and
sleep. I can't say enough good things about it!
