Great, great book. I read it years ago and it still one of my all time favs. I am reading World Without End which is the follow up book and so far it is just as good.

Hopefully I will be reading Baby Matters tonight. It was shipped on Monday and I can't wait to get it!

I loved this book! I felt so smart after reading it. Bryson was able to explain some pretty heavy stuff in a way that even my little brain could understand.

I'm reading Bloodsucking Fiends by Christopher Moore. It's very different from what I usually read, it's kinda twisted, but enjoyable.

Just finished Piccadilly Jim by PG Wodehouse and Down Came the Rain by Brooke Shields.. I'm sort of vaguely reading/rereading a number of other books, including Schindler's List, Teaching the Trivium, A Charlotte Mason Companion and Reason for the Hope Within.

I read Motherhood without a Map, recently. Powerful book.
And my 4 yr old has recently discovered Matilda! Have enjoyed revisiting it lately myself!

My bedside table has the following books on it:

de Becker's Protecting the Gift and Tolkein's Fellowship of the Ring (which I'm rereading for MDC book clubs)

Scott Cunningham's Magical Household

William Goldman's The Princess Bride

Robin Hobb's Renegade's Magic (Finished last night. A great end to a series that I didn't like so much before now but stuck with because I love Robin Hobb. Not at all disappointed.)

Big Learning for Little Learners by Scott Stavros

I recently tried to read my dd's Xmas gift, a copy of Paolini's Brisingr, but just CAN'T. I remember liking Eragon, too...

My DP got Brisingr for Yule and he loved both of the other books in the series but is reading this one a lot more slowly. He said the plot is just slower in this one throughout so it's harder to get through. hth...it's not just you!

currently reading Knit Two -- the sequel to Friday Night Knitting Club

and Protecting the Gift

also thinking about starting Pillars of the Earth as it's been sitting on my shelf for weeks now. I just want to be reading nothing else at the same time, I guess.

I love that book!

At the moment, I'm reading Proust and the Squid and Last Light of the Sun. Then, I just might read Possession again.
