My sweet boy finally made his appearence after 3 day induction

Our beautiful baby boy Aleksander James was born on 1/10/09 at 140 pm. He weighted 8 lbs 5 oz and was 21 in long. We are smitten. He is so alert and responsive

We went into the hospital on 1/8/09 for Prevadil. It dilated me to 1 cm after the first dose, but 2 more doses did nothing even though I was walking the entire hospital for more than 3 hours and it was from 1 am till 4 am. SO the next morning my Doc decided to try Pitocin. My doula was great and so was my husband, and I had 8 hours of Pitocin with ctx 2-5 min apart. I lost my mucous plug and thought that thing were moving a lot, but they checked me and I was still 1 cm and posterior. I don't know about you guys but my checks HURT so badly I wanted to kill the nurses. Plus I was so disappointed that I was STILL 1 cm, that I started crying histerically and couldn't stop. I then had cervidil, and that still kept me at 1 cm.
The next morning, high risk perinatologist/ob came in to talk to us about options (b/c of my GD and being 41w3d I was considered high risk). We had a BPP and the baby looked great. She offered to insert a baloon cath, and we agreed. We had another 24 hours with that, and still nothing. I knew at that point that I was headed for a C-Section. All through this I am having contractions and had no pain meds the whole time. My dr's partner came in ( my doc was not on call) and we agreed to do the C-Section. My dr told her partner that she wanted to be there so she actually came in and did my c-section even though she was not on call. I thought that was so sweet of her. She held me while I was getting a spinal, and held my emesis basin while I puked from the spinal ( and I actually puked on her - she was so sweet about it tho). The spinal was a terrible experience, and I hated it. But not even 10 min after it was administered my beautiful baby was on my chest :::

I had a long recovery (punctuated by my MIL's complete disrespect and selfishness), and we finally got to go home on the 13th.

He has been BFing like a champ, but my nipples hurt so bad!!! waiting for the soreness to go away. . .

We are completely in love with him, though I am still grieving the loss of my drug free vaginal delivery.

I would like to post pics when I figure out how

Thank you for everyone's support and good thoughts

Olga,

Congrats on your beautiful baby!: I'm sorry it didn't go the way you had hoped. These babies definitely had their own agendas!! LOL.

I'm sorry your MIL caused problems for you. For me, it was my own mom!

I'm glad you are holding your boy now, and I love how you spelled his name!

Aleksander! :
