spin off from straw cup thread - when do they stop biting straws?

I don't know what kind of cup to use for ds (21 months) when we're out and about even though he can use anything - open cup, sippy, bottle, sports top, straw, etc. The problem is, he is a bit destructive and bites and pokes anything soft. Also, I hate cleaning cups with lots of fiddly bits (think born free sippies). We have a foogo sippy which is OK but he is a bit old for imo. Can anyone recommend an indestructible, non-toxic, easy to clean straw or sports top water bottle?

my son is now 23 months and at about that age he got extremely interested in drinking from his dad's water bottle. i got him a little one with a regular screw top lid and though he can't undo it by himself, he can screw it back on and he does fine drinking out of it. it makes him feel so happy. he always asks for "daddy water?" i don't do well with fiddly sippy cups either so this has been a really good thing for us. All my dd's have a kk water bottle with a sports cap....they still bite at it, even at 7 and 8. I have to replace the caps every 6 months or so.

My 3 year old seems to be stopping. My 6 year old nephew still does. LOL I think it really depends on the kid/person (some adults still do)
