We were at my BIL's house over the weekend and saw our nephew for the first time. He's 3 months younger than Zaven and circed. At one point, SIL was changing nephew's diaper and Amelia happened to notice. When SIL got up and left the room the throw the dipe away Amelia looked at me, wide-eyed and stricken, and said "mommy, what is WRONG with him????".




(she was too busy playing to wait for an answer. maybe another time....)

Still the story makes me sad. Just as we don't want anyone to judge our children now or when they're grown-ups for being intact, I think it's only fair for it to go both ways. OK so I think it's one thing to think 'wow that mom was either uninformed or not very clever' but another thing to think OH GROSS WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM. I guess I wouldn't want my child to judge. After all it isn't a circ'ed kids fault he is like that.

It's the same thing with any other physical condition. Children say all sorts of things but I hope I can teach as young as possible for my son to keep such comments to himself.

PLEASE don't think I am judging you or your daughter, believe me circ'ed penises make me sad and I have seen a few horrible mutilated ones and have wondered WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT.
