Anyone on the eastside and know of a Mommy group for babies?
I am in Echo Park so anything around here or even Silverlake, Los Feliz, Atwater, Glendale, Pasadena or Hollywood for getting together, walking, play groups, etc.?

I don't know of anything bou might consider putting up a note at the Pump Station in Hollywood. I know mommas with infants often form play groups as they age out of the weekly bf support group.

I'm in Atwater! Grew up in Echo Park; my mom still lives there in the house I grew up in. I also work in Echo Park (when I'm not on-site in Downtown).

I work during the day, but could do an evening or weekend playdate. My kids are 4.5 years and nearly 9 months.

I'm in Silverlake!

There is a yahoo group called Booby Brigade and a lot of moms meet up with each other. PM me your email and I'll have the mod invite you.

Echo Park

Hi! I'm in Echo Park and am looking for other moms too. Did you have any success? I work Tuesday - Friday until 1pm, but I am very interested in connecting with other moms and babies at any other time. My son Felix is 14 weeks old.

Hi Mama! Congratulations on your baby! Love the name.
We should meet up seeing as we are neighbors and all. And our babies are sorta close in age too.

I did meet the lovely Teresa (poster above you) and have been doing some Mommy & Me yoga in Hollywood plus I went to the Silverlake LLL meeting last week. Afterwards, a group of us walked around the lake and then got lunch together. I loved it and so did my son.
If you want to do a walk or meet for tea or something, let me know.
I was down with a sinus infection this past month but now am better. Yay.

Also looking to connect with local moms...

...but for a different reason.

I am a midwifery student, recently moved to Echo Park from New Zealand.

I have followed the man I love to LA but continue my study externally slowly fulfilling my dream to assist women in childbearing. Maybe you can help me on my quest.

I am doing a lactation paper for my course and I am on the search for a breastfeeding mother who would be willing to help me with a field work component.

I am looking for a mum with a baby aged 1-4 months who would be willing to be interviewed about her experience of breastfeeding and have me observe her breastfeeding. The total time commitment would be about 3 hours (3 x 1 hr sessions, over a six week period)

I appreciate the intimate experience of early parenting and personal nature of breastfeeding. Anonymity, confidentiality and privacy are assured.

If you are able to assist me or would like to discuss details please let me know. We can of course meet in person ahead of any commitment to participate.

Best

Liberty,
You might be able to connect with a mom through the Pump Station. The LCs there might be able to recommend someone or you could post a note on their bulletin board.

Can you tell me where you go to a mommy and me yoga class? That sounds great.

The Yahoo group SoCalAPFamilies is a good way to find local mamas...

Silverlake Moms club

OrchideZ,

I found this Silverlake mom's group while googling groups in my area (silverlake). I haven't joined yet but sent a message just a little while ago.

Hi ilas mom ... most groups have a subscription process, so you need to go to those group links and click on the "join this group" link, then watch your email for an applicant survey or other message from the groupowner. Then you respond to that or follow that group's process, and your membership application is then approved.

Your email address brings up a man's name at Facebook, btw...

There is another meet up group for those areas called Highland Park Moms. Also - is anyone looking for part time day care for their 2-3 year old? My daughter currently goes part time at a daycare that we LOVE, but she the big kids graduated and now Eva is the only kid and we are looking for a playmate. It is very affordable and is located in Mt. Washington. The daycare is run by an amazing woman named Lilian - she is a hidden gem in the area. Please contact me if anyone wants more info 310-339-2168. thanks! Rachel

Hey

Do you know how I can find the Highland Park moms group, I can't seem to locate it when I do a search. Am just over 4 months pregnant and thinking about starting to join some groups both online and in the real world to connect with other pregnant ladies. It's all very new to me so any advice welcomed.

Thank you
