I get to be a milk mama!

I had a friend send out an email asking for milk for a mama she knows who cannot nurse for a bit due to a medication issue. The mama doesn't want her newborn to have any formula so she's taking donations. I'm so excited! I just got a Medela Swing pump (brand new, never opened for $30!!) yesterday and started pumping for the newborn last night. I did 13 oz last night and 6 this afternoon and I'm going to do some more tonight. :

I am so happy to donate my milk! My son will have an unknown milk sibling out there! That's so neat! I beam so many happy vibes while I pump for this little baby!!!

Yay! Well done, you! I always hope someone would do this for me if I needed it (can't imagine, but also can't imagine not giving human milk to my babies).

I was milk mom for a friend's preemie baby. She adopted him on what was really short notice and wanted him to have breast milk, so since I was a milk donor already, I pitched in. Here's a pic (hope this is OK):

Cool! I've got a "milk sibling" out there somewhere. 20 years ago my mom pumped for a mom whose milk wasn't rich enough. I don't have any real siblings, so it's kind of fun to think about.

Cool. I'm doing that for twins, and not nearly as much milk. The family is happy if I can provide one bottle a day for each.
