Not much time since DH and I will be leaving on a DATE soon! My parents and sister are coming to watch Eleanor, which they always look forward to. We're going to a nice Japanese restaurant in downtown Minneapolis, and then to see Gran Torino. (An interesting sidenote - the guy who wrote it actually lives in the suburb DH and I live in, and he works at a power company with one of our friends! The friend is going to mention DH's script that just won the big award, and maybe he'll send it to him. )

We have more good news regarding DH's script too! He's been named as a finalist for the Yale Drama Award, which also has a $10,000 prize, as well as being published and put on at Yale! :: There were about 500 applicants from all over the world, and there are 13 finalists. There's only one winner (unlike the Jerome Fellowship, which has 5 winners) so there's much more competition, but we're keeping our fingers crossed and DH is really confident! : We'll know in March. If he wins we'd all go out there for a reception, which would be fun for me as well since Yale is one of the schools I applied to for my PhD.

I'm having a ton of hair fall out too - I'm just resigned to seeing enormous clumps of it in the drain and again in my comb every time I shower.

Eleanor is calming down a bit from last week, and is more herself again. She's so cheerful and talkative that even when it's super late and she should have been in bed hours ago, it makes everything better when she smiles at me and starts talking. She's also started laughing! :

I'm not sure. I've only been there three times and they've always had a wrack with stuff WAY marked down off the outlet prices.

Wow! Your dh is doing awesome! I can feel your pride through the letters on the screen Which Japanese restaurant. We always LOVED Origami in downtown Minneapolis and our fav in St Paul was Saji-Ya (specifically the spicy tuna there) So darn expensive, though, compared to Portland. Worth it of course when you're celebrating such a special occasion.

ETA: We had a fav hole in the wall Thai place over off of Selby and Snelling, Taste of Thailand. It was SO good, though, and dh and I have yet to find somewhere in Portland equally as tasty

Banned... You naughty woman!

^Haha! You're getting in trouble with BW'ing and I'm headed in that direction with CD'ing! I've been obsessively reading about it all weekend! I've bookmarked so many sites. I emailed DH some links and asked him to read them at his conveninece and then come talk to me. That way, he learns the info himself which is generally how he comes around. I'm really hoping the chemicals that are in sposies will get his attention and the $$$ saved will just be icing on the cake.

No time to read tonight...DH is upstair packing as we speak. His ship leaves tomorrow...which means I'm home alone with three kids for over a month...yup...I'm so headed towards a mental breakdown!

I'll be back tomorrow to catch up with everyone.

ARGH! Can someone tell whichever cat is acting out to stop CRAPPING everywhere in my house??? I just found poop in Nora's crib!
bummer!

I hate teething.

ATTENTION CARRIE'S KITTIE(S)....

POOPING OUTSIDE OF THE BOX IS NOT OK AND IS A HUGE GROSS OUT FOR MOMMY AND UNHEALTHY FOR LITTLE NORA!

Aww, Changed, has it officially started for you? Sucky. Ally has started scooting and it frustrates me because she gets frustrated so quickly....She can't play by herself on the floor quite as long which give me very little time to do things like change the laundry. Yay for milestones I guess.

My hair is falling out, too, but I expected it. I keep clogging the shower drain when wash my hair!
Commiseration here on the hair falling out and cats acting out, ladies. I was telling DH if I wanted to have to pick up poop all the time, I would have dogs instead of cats. It's very frustrating... One of the cats just yacked a few mins ago on the blanket where Calla hangs out often in the family room. I promise you it was deliberate. :

s Orionbelt.

I've been spending a lot of time on TBW too - trying to figure out which SSC I want to get!

We had a nice time with the ILs tonight, we went out for margaritas to celebrate Bill's birthday.

Holy crap! I see a tooth peeking through!

Rae--I need to be banned, too! I am up to 9 (yes, NINE) carriers already, and I'm still lusting after several more! I want a shorty, too, but I haven't been able to justify it yet since I just bought a beautiful Sakura Bloom RS. I also want an OMT. And a water wrap or sling (I'm thinking Solarveil).

Cat--I'm all about the Beco. I have a Butterfly and a 4th Gen. I like the Butterfly b/c DH and I can transfer Ella easily while she stays asleep, but I like the 4th Gen b/c there's no fabric between Ella and me. Someday I'm sure I'll figure out how to BF with it!

Tara--I'm in love with Mother Ease diapers (the one-size style)! I've had Kissaluvs, Thirsties, Indian prefolds, Nanipoos, and bG3.0s (oh, and I have one piece of fluff--a Goodmama OS), and the ME are BY FAR my favorite. Not a fan of the covers, though--I prefer to pair them with Thirsties covers. Just my .02!

Orion--I feel for you!

You are too too bad Rae!
Look what you made me buy:

http://i43.tinypic.com/2d6k3ko.jpg:
Mine isn't the exact one in the pix but it is the same kind...a 4.8 Girasol Green Tea! Apparently the green tea is a discontinued style so is a collectible.
I am in love.
What have you started Rae??
ps- yours is gorgeous! I wanna see pix of you wearing these!

Crabby: Congrats to the DH...

Carrie: Oh noes! Poop in the crib? My kitties have been good so far *crosses fingers* so sorry about that. Wah!
Nora has a tooth poking out already? Wow! Congrats!
I know Jasper definitely has all the signs of teething. He is miserable a few times a day and is drooling like crazy.

Freeda: I have some Goodmama bamboo dipes on the way now. Good to hear you like them.
ps- there is a good sale at Goodmama's right now...buy 2 get 1 free.

Tara: Your research sounds promising and I am sure with the facts, he will cave.

Orion: sending you good vibes for your month alone with the kids :

We went for a nice walk up in the hills in the park by our house and took some cute pix of Jasper in honor of him being 3 months this weekend!
Gah, I know you all feel the same but man, every day my love for him grows exponentially.
I will upload them in a bit. He is still in his 0-3 size clothes but has gotten a little taller- he measures 24 inches. He feels around 12 pounds now, still wearing his size small diaper covers from Lovey Bums that go to 12 pounds but seems he is on the cusp of moving up a size. Time to buy more!
His eyes are lightening a bit, cheeks are chubbing out and hair is getting curly.

Is everyone as excited as I am about the Inauguration on Tuesday?

Whoever does get the first little tooth better promise to post a pic!

Poor babies though...my heart goes out to their tiny little mouths.
