Hello from New York! After several months of lurking, I've finally decided to register. I'm Yvie, mama to a very active and independent 3 year old daughter named Tasnim. After some serious health scares and family issues last year I've been totally reevaluating the way we live. A lot needed to change, and I'm so thankful to have been able to learn so much from this forum already. I'm looking forward to learning even more so that our family can remain on the path to a more natural, gentle lifestyle. DH still has some catching up to do though

Welcome, Yvie!! I'm in NY too (in a borough) and it can be hard to live more naturally here, but once you find your resources and support there really is a lot out there! Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome samikashi and Mymble! BTW, Mymble, I'm in Queens, to be more specific. A Florida native though, and really missing it on freezing days like today:

Yvie -- I grew up in Florida too!! I refuse to leave the house when the weather gets like this. : I like looking at the snow -- THROUGH A WINDOW!!

welcome! we're in queens as well! but originally from chicago-so winters here seem pretty mild, except for lately! i just think it's in the nature of men to be a little slower at natural living!

I lived in Queens for 20 years. I miss the great eateries and the small health food stores that were abundant. It's a great place to live.
