Have you read the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman?

The Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper is another great (I think much better than Potter, but that's just me) children's series.

I also like The Snow Spider series by Jenny Nimmo, in the same vein.

Have you read Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice, and the others in that series?

If you like the gothick-y aspects of Twilight, what about going back to some of the classic examples - Jane Eyre, Rebecca, Frankenstein, Dracula itself?

Also if you're looking for something with witches, werewolves, vampires, etc but more adult, try Kim Harrison's series The Hollows (Rachel Morgan is the main character). LOTS of great action-y plot, great characters...I think there are 8 out now? It's more urban fantasy/paranormal, but a great series, nonetheless.
