What would you knit with this yummy self striping yarn?

I was thinking a shawl or a cowl.

Socks. I wouldn't want it round my neck, it has 20% nylon in it.

why is nylon bad for necks?

It just feels- squicky. There's an odd almost scratchy quality to it which I really dislike, because the nylon is such a different feel to wool. By all means, just go for it (and fwiw, my current favourite project for long-striping yarn is the eden scarf from Knitability) but it isn't something I'd want to wear for long.

au-contraire! Mini-mochi is VERY soft

i think this is a case where you need to actually feel the yarn. modern yarns have changed our preconceived notions about products just amazingly!

i've been lucky enough to test this yarn and found it so soft i'd even use it for a pillow.

i bet you haven't ACTUALLY touched it, right? you're guessing based on 70's ick nylons?
