babyhawk or kozy carrier

If you've tried both the kozy carrier and the babyhawk, which do you prefer and why?

I'm trying to decide which to get. We already use a hotsling and a moby, but think a mei tai would be useful, too. We might also get an ergo, but we feel that as a structured carrier, it falls out of the ABC arena, KWIM?

Mei Tai Addict Here

I don't know what you mean about the Ergo falling outside of the ABC arena :, but I never liked my Ergo and ended up selling it on CL about a month after I bought it.

I've had MANY mei tais and my Babyhawk is my favorite next to a DIY one that I wore into pieces (literally). I had a Cozy, but sold it on TBW because I didn't like the straps, fabric, and wide "seat" it had. The print was really pretty, though. My Babyhawk has extra long straps that I adore. They afford me a lot of flexibilty when back carrying.

They are both great carriers. The Kozy definitely has wider body and more padded, wider straps. Which for me, made it really uncomfortable in a back carry (it was great in a front carry with a smaller babe, though). I think a lot of it depends on your body type.

I didn't like babyhawk because the straps were stiff, scratchy, too thin, over stuffed. Kozy was better. I liked the wider and deeper kozy seat too.

I like the Kozy better b/c of the big body. Tried a babyhawk the other day and it felt TINY. Ds is big already and it felt like it wasn't tall enough/big enough to keep him as secure as I like him.

i own one of each. the babyhawk was nice with a tiny baby, but i strongly prefer the Kozy for overall longevity of use and support.

if you do decide to go with a babyhawk, get a toddlerhawk even if your baby is small now. you can always fold it under at the waist to shorten the body, but you can't make the regular one any longer

I really liked my babyhawk. I don't like my toddlehawk as much. It just seems flimsier, less well made.

I like both, but my favorite is Kozy. I like the body of the Kozy (big, wide and curved top). I don't like the length of the regular straps though and do order them XL. Babyhawk is a really good mei tai too and has a stiffer head rest and ofcourse it comes in tons of fabric options. You can get reversible and chose from their different color straps, so that part is really fun.

I have and love both! Prefer Kozy though and it would be the hands down winner if I had to pick.

Thanks for all the input! I got a Kozy on craigslist and it has arrived! I'm quite pleased. I'm very eager to use it, but I just washed it and needs to dry! Darn line drying! (It's also gotta make room for a mini load of cloth dipes; it better hurry!)
