Wool blend yarn - healthy?

I try to dress my family in natural fibers as much as possible, and I like to use 100% wool yarns for most of my projects. While looking for sock yarns, I have seen a lot of superwash yarns with 30% nylon. We specifically avoid polyester as much as we can because of xenoestrogens, but (although I was a chemist in my past life) I really know very little about nylon's or acrylic's potential health effects.
Any of you MDC knitting/crocheting mamas looked into the risks of using wool blends with nylon or acrylic?
How about actual performance of these blends? Do they pill like synthetics alone do?
I really like the look of some of the superwash blends, and they are often less expensive - though not always - than the 100% wool yarns.
Thanks!

I haven't knit socks yet, but I was told sock yarns are usually blends to improve wear. 100% wool socks would wear out too quickly.

Kara is right- you kind of need that nylon in your socks or else it is way too much work for how long they last. I knit my DH some worsted 100% wool socks for his birthday and they are already starting to show signs of wear... oh well- he loves them anyway...

I honestly don't know the health risks from it- but I choose not to worry about that little smidge of nylon.
