Babyhawk options?

I want to order a Babyhawk, but I'm wondering which options I should get.

First, the XL straps? I'm pretty small, 5'4" 115lb (usually ), so I know I don't need them, but there's a slight possibility that my 6'2" 200lb DH might wear it as well. He would definitely need the longer straps right? Would it be a pain for me to have the XL straps? Like would they get in the way or be dragging on the floor or anything?

What about the pocket and toy ring? If you have these, did you find them useful?

Anything else I'm forgetting? Thanks for any suggestions you can give me!

you can always tie the extra in a bow. It will look a little silly, but will keep them out of the way.
We have 2 BH's. 1 has a pocket 1 does not. I prefer the one w/o the pocket. It makes it look bunchy & does not hold much or seem like it is comfy for DD when we put stuff in there. Neither has a toy ring, but I knd of wish it did. I just use a pacifier clip.

my DH is a similar size and can use a BH with regular straps. easier with a front carry than a back carry, though, because he has to tie under baby's bum which is a little more difficult when baby is on your back. but i wouldn't get XL ones if i were you - especially since you'll probably be using it more often. even the regular straps will probably have extra length you don't need, XL straps are going to be dragging on the floor

as for other options, like a toy loop, i've never personally found them necessary, but lots of mamas like them.
as for the pocket - i've never had a MT or SSC with a pocket and never missed it. but i mosty do back carries and therefore the pocket would not be very accessible. if you think you'll mostly do front carries, a pocket can be a handy thing for tossing a spare dipe and your keys and cell phone into so you don't have to carry an extra bag.

I like short straps. I don't like them dragging all over the place. Just too much to deal with. We never used the pockets on our carriers either.

My dh is the same size as yours and he didn't have a problem using a BH with regular straps.

I don't know if they make them on the BH, but I think a sleeping hood would be handy. I don't know if a toy ring would be all the useful....my babe seems to just enjoy people watching. As far as a pocket...I could probably take it or leave it. I don't use the pocket on my Ergo much.

I hate how my regular straps drag on the ground when I use it outside the house but I suspect no matter how long or short the straps are, they are going to touch the ground.

I did a pocket on both sides of my reversible BH & never ended up using them. I feel like if I put anything in there, it would be annoying to DD since it isn't really as much a pocket as it is a little pouch.

I'm about the same size and have the regular straps. I wish I had XL on the top, and my next babyhawk will for sure. There are just more ways to tie it in that case and I find mine to be too short depending on the carry. It's all preference, though.

I wouldn't get a pocket, they don't look very functional or attractive, IMO. No toy ring, either, and I don't miss it.

I have the regular length straps and find that they get in the way all the time. I feel like a fool at times with straps all around me.

I'm also a fan of the no pocket idea. It pressed things into DS's back and that wasn't comfortable.

Thanks mamas! I think I'll just go with the basic version then, regular straps and no pocket or toy ring. I doubt DH would end up using it anyway.
