The pertussis vaccine does NOT prevent transmission -- Is that correct?
So a parent getting pertussis vaccine does little to protect a child-- Is that correct?
Once you have had pertssis you are immune-- is that correct?

Once you've had pertussis you're immune for a while but it does not confer life long immunity like many of the other diseases. It could give you 6 mos of immunity or 5 years, no one really knows and it seems to be different for everyone.

But you're right, the vax does not prevent transmission. There's a good article explaining it at www.insidevaccines.com if you do a search there for pertussis it should come right up.

Nope- you can have pertussis a number of times.
