Hep B - do I need it?

I went in for STD/HIV testing this weekend (for my next surrogacy journey), and my dr emailed today saying I wasn't vax'd for hep B. He said he put in an order and it's a series of three shots over six months.

If I am not at risk, do I need it? I have never researched hep B all that much, honestly. From what I read, it's recommended for all adults. But the risk factors (multiple sexual partners, drug users, people that work in settings like hospitals, etc. etc.) do not apply to me.

Not only that, but if I did need it, can I get the shot while pregnant? Even if I could, I don't like the idea of it. I am planning on beginning cycling for my surrogacy in April.

(I have been searching this forum but a lot of the hep B posts have to do with getting it or not getting it for our kids)

As you said, you don't have a high risk life style, so NO you don't need it.

I am 62 yo and have never had it. Why would anyone need it unless they are in a different type of business and even then I would be cautious.

What do you want to read about? Hep B in grownups?

Ok. let me see...

Dr. Tenpenny's brother got the Hep B shot because he was a researcher and felt he might be in danger (working with blood...). He had such a severe reaction that he could never work again. That brought Dr. Tenpenny to the table of researching vaccines. She is now one of the most outspoken anti-vaccine doctors there are.

I will try and find some information from her.

I guess I am wondering what adverse affects hep b has had. From what I have found so far, it can cause multiple sclerosis? It's sounding like I don't need it though.

Thank you for your reply, it's appreciated.

It doesn't sound to me like you need it, though of course only you can know for sure. Given that you're not a sex worker, sharing needles, or working in a hospital or as a tattoo artist, I'd say no.

I would never get any vaccine, but DEFINITELY not while pregnant, not under any circumstances. Not a chance. Who knows what it could do to a growing fetus? No way, José.

I wouldn't touch that vax with a ten-foot pole.

Yea, they want new born babies to get the vax too. I don't know if my son is just abnormal or what, but he had no interest in sex or drug use when he was born, so I didn't get it for him...
I think you sound just as at risk as a new born for the disease, I wouldn't get it.

Never.

Pregnant - no way no how.

Thank you, ladies. I was thinking maybe I was missing something about this (as to why I should get it), but I see I'm not.

I'm so glad to hear this. I thought DD was weird. She's 9 months and still isn't doing any high-risk behaviors.

My reply:
No need to get ANY vaccines, specially NOT the HEP vaccine, too dangerous!
I declined many jobs in US-health clinics where a HEp shot was required before hiring.........................Its Just not worth the adverse reactions one gets from these toxic shots.
Do you ladies know that I do homeopathic volunteer work in 3rd world countries, working in the poorest clinics, with some crazy diseases running rampant, diseases you dont even see here in the usa............ i never get vaccinated
before I go on these clinical volunteer trips. And I have never been sick from doing this dangerous work.

I had the hep B series about 10 years ago for employment before I knew any better to question vaccines. I wish I knew then what I know now. I would have declined. I believe this shot has contributed to multiple joint issues I have had since then.

Oh I hate reading stuff like this Sorry Marnica! Have you seen a classical homeopath Yet for this problem? Its not too late if they are verry expierenced in Anti-miasmatic vaccine detox protocal.

You do not need it! I got the series 11 years ago when I was working as a clerk in a hospital, no chance of blood exposure but I didn't know better. Then I allowed Sierra to be vax'd, she was a premie and I had not researched. She died.

The immunologis believes that the hep B series was the triggering event for my Crohn's disease and that since Sierra shared my blood/immune system at birth, having her vaccinated was like giving a highly reactive baby a fourth dose, thus destroying her liver in just 18 hours.

OMG!!! That is so awful. I am so incredibly sorry. My heart just aches for you. Im sorry that you had to experience something so terrible to find out how dangerous vaccines can be.

Check with your surrogacy contract and see if you really are required to get this drug/vaccine. I doubt it. It depends on what is involved in your surrogacy procedure - and only you know that. Are you carrying your own egg? Is the sperm cleared for Hepitits B and other problems?

Nope, nothing in my contract about it. I am to have an STD and HIV panel, but that's it (as well as the intended parent's, of course and my DH already had his testing done). Thankfully my IP's are very naturally minded people, so they understand my desire to skip a lot of vax's and such.

mommyto3girls - I am so sorry about the loss of your daughter. That is terrible.

Me too.
Almost five years later and I am just starting to feel normal again.
I didn't even put two and two together until I started researching vaccines for my DD. It was so obvious and I didn't see it!

I am so sorry. That is a horrible way to learn about vaccines. Thank you for sharing your daughter's story. Sierra is so beautiful.
