I'm stumped for names too. I have Joshua and Aaron, both from the Old Testament. I'd like to keep a Biblical theme going (with GOOD Biblical names - not the name of a bad person or anything
). For girls' names, Joshua's girl name was Rachel and Aaron's girl name was Sarah. I don't really want to reuse those names because in my family, each child had a boy and a girl name, and they didn't get reused. So my name is not the name that they picked out for my older brother if he were a girl. I have my own special name. And I also have my own special boy name. I'm glad I'm not named that (Raymond Bernard
), but it's still special to me. So I want to do separate boy/girl names for my kids too.
So Rachel and Sarah are out.
For a boy, I really liked David, and that's my deceased uncle's name as well. But DH didn't want to use that. I also liked Nathan, but we have good friends that have Nathan and Aaron (in college), so it would look like we're copying them, or so DH says.
I've thought of Samuel and Matthew. Haven't run those by DH yet.
For a girl, I was really set on Hannah, but then at Christmas, DH's granny and aunt were talking about girl names from the Bible, and they picked out Hannah. So now I don't want to use that because I don't want them to think they named the baby.
Normally it wouldn't bother me, but they are SOOOO competitive, and they'd probably rub it in MIL's face that they named the baby, even though I'd thought of the name first. I didn't say anything at the dinner. I just didn't contribute to the naming conversation. But I don't want them competing with MIL about a name. I try to stay out of their petty competitions.
I can't think of any other girl name I like. But I will take suggestions!
