He doens't need to peek. He should have just asked. Or better yet.. do you have hair under your arms? Cause that generally starts at the same time. Why not look at your arm pit instead. Even if you shave you can still tell.

Why do people subject their children to this type of invasive, demeaning, embarrassing exam at such a tender age?

This is routine, but not always done. You can choose not to have the pain meds and if you don't have the pain meds they don't give you an IV.

I'd also file a complaint against the doctor for giving the injection without parental consent.
My doctor stopped allowing my parents in for my physicals when I was about that age, mom OR dad. I think they felt that I would be more forthcoming about things like drugs, sex, etc which are important for them to know about.

THis is crazy... I had yearly check ups growing up, clear through college... No Doc. EVER EVER EVER was alone with me, let alone LOOK or TOUCH anything down there. I was asked personal questions, and given the option for my mom to leave if I wanted. But My relationship with her is so open, that there was no need.

I am shocked with the posts that I am reading.

Even with my son... I think the doc. looked once... when he was born... past that... his diaper never came off. I would have flipped.... esp. now that he is older. SICK!!! Really! I don't see this as normal!

What happened to a question... You are at that age where you could be going through some changes. Have you noticed anything troubling? Past that... no one better touch or need to see myself, or any of my children! I would consider that passing some serious professional lines. Unless there is an actual prob. Peeing blood, or catheters...

It's not that we allow this to be done, it's that it happens regardless. I've expressed my objections to the pedi.

Here is the problem, even though I use a religious exemption for vaxes, I still have to have a physical for scouting.

I have a religious exemption w the school for vaxes and physical examination for my oldest. I couldn't do it for my 2nd due to a medical condition he does have. I could do it for my next going in next school year, but honestly, I don't feel like dealing with the fall back of the religious exemption on the physical given I have gone to a doc when needed.

SO, in order to comply (I hate that word) with not just schools, but also scouting, they need a signed physical form...

My objections will continue and maybe this year, I'll just put my foot down. My pedi is younger than I am and a woman. I'll just have to hold firm.

A physical can still be done without them going near the genitals. I have to have the kids get a physical every year for the first few years of school. But I will no longer allow genital checks.

For some reason I thought you were in California. I guess I could be wrong.. but there is no physical requirement for schools in California or Oregon. I have never run int this.

Also, if your Ped does not abide by your wishes find a new ped. There is no REASON for them to be looking or touching a child down there. You have the right to refuse. Your child has the right to refuse. If the ped continues I would consider it assault. They are not god.. no matter what they like to think.
