Stimulus Check Rebate?

This mentions that if you added a dependent in 2008, you could be eligible for a stimulus rebate. I don't know the details, but thought I would pass it on, since most of you had babies in 2008, well after the stimulus checks went out!

My husband says there was a cap though so if you already claimed for two parents ansd a child and got $1500 than thats it? I don't know if he's right but he was pretty certain.

we had 5 dependents and us, so we got $2100 for ours. I think the cap is 6 kids but could be wrong...

the language is kind of confusing to me in my sleep deprived state...can anyone help me sort this out?

At tax filing time last year my DH was 17, yet his parents were unable to claim him for the rebate due to his birthdate and being 17 (3-30-90). He did not file, as he had no income that year. This year we are married and had a baby, so we are filing together. I'm sure we'll get $300 for DS, but will we get another $300 for DH since no one got his last year?

We are using turbotax so it should be figured automatically, but nonetheless I'd like to know in advance.

I can back this up because dh and I did our taxes and the extra $300 for ds was added into our tax return... along with $600 for me because dh and I got married after the stimulus went out.

All of the tax language is confusing to me in text so we just go to H&R block . Luckily we get the "friends and family" deal and only have to pay $20 to get our taxes done! Our return was excellent this year!!!

As for the cap... idk because origionally dh got his $600 and dd's $300 and just last week we got my $600 and ds's $300... which would take us over the cap everyone is talking about. But, the gov says ok so I'm taking it!
